Hear every detail in stunning clarity and fidelity

To commemorate DENAFRIPS’s 12 years of digital audio excellence, the Terminator II 12th Anniversary Edition features performance enhancements one would never thought possible.

If you’re a music lover and you want the best listening experience, one of the key ingredients in the quality of your sound is the digital-to-analog converter or DAC.

Terminator II 12th DAC is a trickle down of the Terminator Plus 12th DAC. The high similarity at a lower price tag is certainly a big welcome to the price conscious audiophile community.

Gold x Silver x Copper Alloy O-Core AC Transformers

Clean power equates to the foundation of good sound. A dedicated linear power supply unit, designed and encased in a 1.5mm thick metal alloy enclosure, can be found underneath the DAC motherboard with an additional steel plate divider between the DAC motherboard and PSU box - for extra EMI/EMF shielding.

The box-within-box design, not only does it eliminates the inherited problems of dual box solution, it presents the details and attentions DENAFRIPS put into the Terminator II/Plus 12th DAC.

Beefy dual O-Core Transformers for Digital and Analog sections, Ultra-Low ESR, Long Endurance Reservoir Capacitors, and multi-stages super linear power supply, ensuring ultra precision, low ripple power supply charging up DAC.

DIGITAL / ANALOGUE ISOLATION

The TERMINATOR-II/PLUS Digital Processing Board and R-2R ladder network arrays are completely isolated. The two boards are physically linked by the OCXO module. The physical isolation yields even lowered noise-floor and achieved higher signal to noise ratio.

OVEN-CONTROLLED CRYSTAL OSCILLATORS – OCXO

“The BEST clocks are the clocks inside the DAC”.

The TERMINATOR-II/PLUS is equipped with dual OCXO operating at 45.1584Mhz, 49.152Mhz - 1024x of based sampling rate of 44.1kHz and 48kHz. Encapsulated in a metal casing, located at the center of the DAC, these OCXO are specially designed for high-end audio applications with ultra-low phase-noise and ultra-accuracy. The dual OCXO are powered by the complete redesigned power supply circuitry (encapsulated, shielded, underneath the main boards), supplying constant current to the OCXO. The adequate power reserves ensure linearity and stability of the OCXO.

ADAPTIVE FIFO BUFFER RECLOCKING

The DENAFRIPS approach to address the jitters issue by the FIFO BUFFER RECLOCKING. The adaptive FIFO buffer store the digital audio data in the memory. These data are read from the memory using the ultra-low phase noise, ultra-accuracy OCXO, located right in the DAC.

The data bits are converted to analogue signal by the true balanced R-2R ladder network arrays. The linearity of the conversion is guaranteed by the high-precision thin film resistors, with low thermal effect temperature coefficient of the low 10/15ppm.
